Numeracy Learning

Show Art
I went to the Show yesterday and it was great to see all the Pod 2 art displayed in the home industries pavilion. I hope lots of you managed to pop along and view it too.

Hopping Corn
Yesterday Room 5 (and today Room 7) did a science experiment for whole class writing. It involved ingredients most of you would have in your cupboards and generated a lot of discussion. Please see me (Casey) if you would like the instructions.

2015 Annual Parent Picnic
What a great turn out at the family picnic tonight! It was lovely to see lots of Pod 2 families out dispite the wind! Thank you so much to the parent forum for organising such a fun event.

Sports for Juniors
As a parent I am always on the look out for activities for my son to be involved in. This was raised at the Meet the Teacher night last month. There are currently a lot of activities and sports on offer and most of them have been advertised in the school newsletter along with contact details.
* Rugby - late registrations can be taken at the club open day this Saturday from 10.00 - 12.00 at the rugby grounds.
* Netball - registration day next week on March 10th (the ONLY day) at school. The sessions for Year 1-2 are run during a lunch time at school and were loved by the juniors last year. It costs $5 (pay fees on-line) and runs in term 2.
* Karate - Tuesday afternoons (for juniors) in the school hall from 3.30 - 4.30 and they offer two free sessions to see if your child likes it.
* Hockey - Trainings start next week on March 9th. You can email uppercluthahockey@gmail for more information.
* Northlake Duathlon - March 28th. If you register by March 14th it costs $20.
And if you have a daughter who isn't so much into sports...
