Observing Light

Room 5 went on a science walk around the school this afternoon to find things that reflected light. Here is what is we found.

ANZAC Baking

Today the pod baked ANZAC biscuits and they were delicious. We enjoyed them just before the bell rang at the end of the day. Have a safe and happy long weekend. See you Tuesday.

Week 1 Certificates

These children have made an impressive start to Term 2. Congratulations.

Poetry

We have been busy reading poems. Looking at words that rhyme. Practising reading with expression and finding chunks of letters and word endings.

Model Spiders

Maxwell and Logan worked hard to make these model spiders in the science lab. They carefully looked in the spider books and included so much detail. You are very creative boys!

Science - Light

Today the scientists in Room 5 worked cooperatively to brainstorm sources of light. They independently came up with natural sources and man-made sources. The science leaders shared back their groups ideas and we made a class chart that is on display in the science lab. Well done team!

 

Welcome back to term two.

The pod is set up for some exciting new learning this term!

Maori in Pod 2

Today Whaea Mary-Ann has started working in Pod 2. She will be working with a Poi group, a Haka group and a Maori language group. We look forward to seeing what the children learn.

SKOOLBO

We are loving Skoolbo in Pod 2! Every child has a password in their Home and School Books. Skoolbo is a free learning game and is available on the computer and tablets. Have a go!

Working on Literacy Goals

I I was really impressed with the self motivated learning going on at Literacy time this morning. The children are making awesome spelling progress.
